Abstracts |
An investigation was carried out to study the interaction effects of Rhizobium and vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza (VAM) inoculation on groundnut cultivar JL-24. The VAM spores from 200-250 100 g-1 were applied sq m-1. Biometric observations, phosphorus and nitrogen content of plants were determined at 60 and 90 days after sowing. The yield and yield attributes were recorded at harvest. The observations showed that dual inoculation (Rhizobium + VAM) was found superior over single inoculation of VAM or Rhizobium to stimulate nodulation, root length, dry matter production, pod yield and nitrogen content. Rhizobium inoculation performed better as compared to VAM to stimulate nodulation, dry matter, nitrogen content and pod yield, while performance of VAM was noticed better compared to Rhizobium to stimulate root length and accumulation of phosphorus in groundnut plants. |
