This paper discusses the presence of mycorrhizospheric microorganisms and highlights their impact in forest rehabilitation in problematic areas as well as in forest productivity. The association of microorganisms with novel hosts are also discussed. The novel hosts are: vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, wood decaying fungi, sporocarps of ectomycorrhizal fungi, sporocarps of Agaricus bisporus (edible mushroom), faeces and droppings of mammals, and nodules and roots of Casuarina equisetifolia. |
