An experiment was conducted in Arabhavi, Karnataka, India, during 2003-04 to study the effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (Sclerocystis dussii, Glomus leptotichum, Acaulospora laevis, Glomus intraradices, Glomus bagyaraji [Glomus bagyarasjii], Glomus mosseae, Glomus fasciculatum, Glomus monosporum and Gigaspora margarita) on the germination of mango (cv. Alphonso) stones. Data were recorded for number of days to germination, germination percentage, spore count index and root colonization percentage. Mango stone germination increased by 10-15% with Gigaspora margarita, A. laevis, Glomus monosporum and Glomus fasciculatum inoculation.. |
