Pinus elliottii seedlings were cultured in nursery in Fenyi County, Jiangxi Province, China. The seedlings were treated with 4 different methods: treatment 1 (steady-state nutrition + Pisolithus tinctorius (Pt)); treatment 2 (no fertilizer application + Pt); treatment 3 (steady-state nutrition + soil from pine forest); and treatment 4 (normal fertilizer application + soil from pine forest). The relative nutrition addition rate of seedlings under steady-state nutrition was 7.5%. The amount of nutrient added during the culture period was calculated according to the theory of steady-state mineral nutrition. The amount of N per seedling under steady-state nutrition was 39.22 mg and 55.20 mg per seedling under normal fertilizer application without PK and any micronutrients treatment. At the end of growing season, the growth and percentage of ectomycorrhizal infection of seedlings in the different treatments were determined. Results showed that the ability of ectomycorrhizal infection in P. elliottii seedlings was higher when inoculated with both Pt and natural ectomycorrhiza. The maximum percentage of ectomycorrhizal infection was observed in treatment 1, which amounted to 94.8%. The growth of seedlings was in the order: treatment 1 > treatment 2 > treatment 3 > treatment 4.. |
