Abstracts |
A trial was conducted during 1999-2000 at Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, India, to study the influence of biofertilizers, GA3 and their combinations on the growth of pecan seedlings. Maximum linear and radial growth was recorded with vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza (VAM) + GA3 at 5000 ppm. The highest values for internodal length, number of leaves, fresh and dry weight of shoots and root/shoot ratio were recorded with VAM + Azotobacter + GA3, whereas the highest leaf size, root length, fresh and dry weight of roots and photosynthetic rate were highest with VAM + Azotobacter. The highest root colonization occurred with VAM + Azotobacter. One hundred percent graftable/buddable plants were obtained with VAM + Azotobacter + GA3 at 5000 ppm.. |
