Abstracts |
The effects of chemical and organic fertilizers and biofertilization on nutrition and yield of red pepper (Capsicum) were studied in the greenhouse and field experiments in Valle del Cauca, Colombia. The fresh root and shoot weight, leaf number, plant height, stem diameter, and total dry weight were determined. The treatments evaluated under randomized complete block design were: chemical fertilizers (CF) (T1); organic fertilizers (OF) (T2); CF + OF + phosphate solubilizing bacteria 1x107 conidia/ml Penicillium janthinellum [Penicillium simplicissimum] (T3); CF + OF + mycorrhizas (T4); CF + nitrogen fixing bacteria 1x108 CFU/ml Azotobacter chroococcum and Azospirillum spp. (T5); and CF + 1x108 CFU/ml Azotobacter chroococcum (T6). T4 had the best results followed by T5. The highest red pepper yield was obtained from soil treated with T4. |
