A field trial was conducted in Kerala, India, to study the effect of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizas (VAM) bioformulation (Josh Super) in mature tea yield for a period of 4 years. Results indicated that VAM colonization was higher in the plants treated with 15 g of VAM formulation per plant followed by lower dosages. Significantly higher yields were achieved in the plots treated with 15 g of Josh Super per bush followed by plants treated with 10 g of VAM in combination with phosphate solubilizing bacteria at 5 g per plant. Incorporation of VAM improved the soil health in terms of increased nutrients and soil biota. VAM incorporation facilitated reduction in 25% N and 50% P fertilizers. |
