Abstracts |
Recent progress in maize genetics and genomics has furthered characterization of the molecular basis of maize phosphate starvation responses (PSR), with the potential to provide important information in the development of maize varieties with enhanced P use efficiency. In this Update, recent findings and opportunities for further understanding the regulation of maize PSR are summarized. The variation among maize germplasm in tolerance to low inorganic phosphate availability and the maize association with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi are briefly discussed. |
