Abstracts |
Influence of inoculation of citrus (Citrus sinensis Osbeck 'Hongjiangcheng') roots with exogenous arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungus, Glomus intraradices, in field conditions was investigated using PCR-DGGE. Results showed that the inoculation did not affect the root colonization of citrus plants. The diversity index and species richness of AM fungi in roots did not change, while the two parameters of AM fungi in the rhizospheric soil tended to decrease. Additionally, DGGE profile indicated that the inoculation altered the community structure of indigenous AM fungi. This study suggests that the long-term application of exogenous AM fungi in fields probably decreases the diversity of the indigenous AM fungi and changes the fungal community structure. |
