The purpose of this study is to assess the potential for adaptation and phytoremediation of lonkida in a pool of Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) in PT., Bukit Asam, South Sumatra, Indonesia. A total of 48 seedlings of lonkida planted in each compartment of an area of 75 m2 with a planting spacing of 1×0.8 m consisting of 4 treatments of seedlings of native habitat including land dry, swamp, temporal swamp and temporal savanna swamp as well as two treatments of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae Fungi (AMF), thus without AMF and with AMF. Results of the study show that the seeds of lonkida at 90 days in wetland construction have high adaptability (100%). Lonkida can absorb and accumulate metals in the order; Fe>Mn>Zn>Cu>Pb>Cd. Lonkida phytoremediation potential as the type of AMD through the rhizofiltration mechanism showed TF<1. Arbuscular mycorrhizae fungi allegedly have potential as agent of phytoremediation through phytostabilisation mechanism (Mn and Zn). The pH at the outlet increased by 1-21% and reduction of Fe, Mn and TSS at the outlet of the constructed wetland. Lonkida has a potential as phytoremediation plants in AMD on wetland construction. |
