Abstracts |
Nursery experiments were conducted during 2001-02, in Mettupalayam, Tamil Nadu, India, to study the effects of vermi-products on the growth and biomass production of jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum). Data were recorded for shoot length, root length, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight, total dry weight and number of leaves per plant. Application of vermi-products increased all parameters compared with the untreated control. However, introduction of earthworms proved inferior to direct application of vermi-products but superior to fertilizer application. Application of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza along with vermicompost did not produce any significant effect when compared to other vermi-product application.. |
