Experiments were designed to evaluate the influence of indigenous arbucular mycorrhizal fungi, collected from the rhizophere soil of moth bean (Vigna aconitifolia), on the nutrient uptake in 10 genotypes (IC 39690, IC 39633, IC 39700, IC 39651, IC 39693, IC 39682, JWALA, JADIA, MARU, and RMO-40) of this crop. All the plants treated with mycorrhiza showed increase in nutrient uptake as compared with non-mycorrhizal ones. However, different genotypes varied in increased nutrient uptake and biomass production due to mycorrhizal inoculation. Among the various cultivars used, Jadia and Jawala responded most efficiently towards mycorrhizal relationship. |
