Abstracts |
Experiments were conducted during the rabi seasons of 2002/03 and 2003/04, in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, to evaluate the response of cauliflower cv, Snowball-16 to four biofertilizers (Azospirillum, Azotobacter, phosphate-solubilizing bacteria and vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza) and two levels of nitrogen and phosphorus (75 and 100% of the recommended NPK dose of 120:60:60 kg/ha). Data were recorded for plant height, number of leaves, gross weight per plant, average curd weight, ascorbic acid content, and yield. Azospirillum + 100% of the recommended NPK recorded the highest values for all growth, yield and quality parameters studied. This treatment also recorded the highest net return (Rs. 53 965/ha) and benefit:cost ratio (2.23). |
