A field experiment was conducted in West Bengal, India during 2003-04 to evaluate the effects of organic amendments on broccoli hybrid Green Country. The treatments were: (T1) cow dung + biofertilizer-I (Azotobacter, phosphate solubilizer and potash mobilizer); (T2) poultry manure + biofertilizer-I; (T3) mustard oil cakes + biofertilizer-I; (T4) cow dung + biofertilizer-II (Azotobacter, vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza and potash mobilizer); (T5) poultry manure + biofertilizer-II; (T6) mustard oil cake + biofertilizer-II; and (T7) recommended N:P:K rate, 150:60:80 kg/ha. T6 resulted in the highest yield (103.70 q/ha) and cost:benefit ratio (1:4.46). T2 produced curds with the highest chlorophyll, ascorbic acid and reducing sugar contents (32.80 mg/100 g, 80.30 mg/100 g and 2.20%, respectively). |
