Abstracts |
This paper discusses the issues involved in the raising of economically viable, large-scale jatropha (Jatropha curcas, a biodiesel-yielding crop) plantations in various categories of land in India, and describes the aspects of the use of elite planting stock and appropriate cultural practices such as planting methods, use of mycorrhiza, and timely pruning to enhance seed yield. The research issues on aspects of planting material, planting techniques, and post-planting care are highlighted. |
