Abstracts |
A total of 11 species (belonging to Allium genus) from the grassland and desert of Nei Menggu, China, were collected to investigate the infection status of arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) to their root systems. The results showed that all the species were infected by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and most of them displayed a relatively high infection rate. Significant differences in infection rate were found among different species and within the same species in different geographical environments or soil types. All the Allium species formed Arum -type mycorrhizal structures. The inoculation experiment with AM fungi under greenhouse condition showed that all of the tested 8 Allium species were infected with AMF and also formed the same Arum -type mycorrhizal structure. |
